Bhutan Olympic Committee holds first sports administrators course since 2003

The Bhutan Olympic Committee held a four-day Sports Administrators Course at the Tennis Conference Hall in Changlingmethang, Thimphu, from 14-17 June. This course was last conducted in 2003.

Mr. Maxwell de Silva, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka, and Mr. M.L.H. Pereira, Visiting Professor at the University of Kelaniya, were the National Course Directors.

The course was conducted by the Bhutan Olympic Committee in collaboration with the NOC of Sri Lanka, with support from the International Olympic Committee and Olympic Solidarity.

The course was attended by sports administrators, coaches and programme officers from the National Sports Federations of Bhutan and the BOC. The objective is to raise general awareness of the Olympic Movement, of the various sporting systems in place both nationally and regionally and to promote continual learning amongst sports administrators.
