The Hellenic Olympic Committee

The Hellenic Olympic Committee, awarded prizes to athletes, sports personalities, organizations and institutions for their contribution to sport and Olympism, at a bright ceremony.

Apostolos Christou (swimming) and Athina Maria Aggelopoulou (rowing) were awarded a prize for their silver medals at the Youth Olympic Games “Nanjing 2014” and Marios Giakoumatos (fencing) for the bronze medal at the same event.

Elias Iliadis (judo), Kostas Filippidis (athletics) and Lefteris Konsolas, Giorgos Konsolas, Panagiotis Magdanis and Spyros Giannaros (rowing) were awarded for the gold medals they won at the 2014 World Championships.

The International Olympic Committee awarded the Participant Label Pins to the athletes Panagiota Tsakiri, Sophia Ralli, Apostolos Angelis, Massimiliano Valcareggi, Nikos Polychronidis, Apostolos Kefalas and Kostas Sykaras, who participated in the Winter Olympic Games “Sochi 2014”.

The event was attended by the Deputy Sports Minister Giannis Andrianos, the IOC Member Lambis Nikolaou, the President of the International Olympic Academy Isidoros Kouvelos, the member of the IOC Commission for Culture and Olympic Education Franco Ascani, the members of the Hellenic Parliament Pyrros Dimas and Giannis Ioannidis, the President of the Hellenic Paralympic Committee Giorgos Foundoulakis amongst others.
